From the start of this new year, Our beloved Customer Relations Dept, underwent a minor reorg and would be known as Customer Department. It saw the addition of two new teams. One being the Leads Generation Section headed by Tan Yang Kwang. And the other being the Strategic Unit which is headed by Clarence Ng. The rest of the teams that remains are Giro Section headed by Cheryl Tan, and last but not least, Customer Relations unit headed by Shirlene Poh. We will be going around and introduce/interview all the teams in the upcoming postings. Do look out for it !!

We would also like to introduce the Bloginators (Blog Co-ordinators :D) for the respective units. If you feel that you have anything that you wish to share with the rest, do forward your article to our groovy Bloginators!!

First-Ever DeepaRaya Celebration in CR

(31/10/2006)

The sub-group welfare committee of CR dept organised a deeparaya celebration on 31st of October.

There was great food and all the teams brought in cakes and jelly as part of the potluck.

Everyone was dressed in their ethnic wear and HYPE Room was so colourful.

There were so many smiles and cheers as top 3 best dressed were chosen

2nd Prize -Normah

3rd Prize - Komathi

But i should say everyone looked their best that day.

November Wheel of Winners

For Oct, the top performers of each team get to have a go to spin the wheel of winners. They stand a chance to win attractive gifts and vouchers for their hard work. And as each winner spins the wheel, you can hear everyone echoing "Vouchers!" "Vouchers!" It is a very joyous moment where the whole CR dept gathers to cheer and congratulate the winners.

Apart from our top performers, the November birthday babies also get to have a go at spinning the wheel. The whole dept then sang the birthday song for them. It is a truly joyous occassion that we all look forward to every end of the month.

Income celebrated its day on 5th of october.....

There was good food... great entertainment and super duper fun....

Various depts came together and performed dances that reflected the different aspects of NTUC Income.

5 beautiful gals from Insureline, Contact Centre and Customer Relations Dept represented the ARTS.....

They did a cool dance for the rockin' song, "Lady Marmalade"....

CR Festive Recipes

Since the Deepavali and Hari Raya Festivities are fast approaching, CR dept has opened up invitations to all our regular chefs and bakers to share their recipes on local dishes, cookies and cakes with the dept. And together with a mouthwatering picture of their creation.

To start things off we have Jamilah from Bluechips sharing with us her recipe of a Strawberry Marble Cake!!

Recipe :

8ozs butter
7ozs sugar
6 ozs self - raising flour
5 eggs (big)
strawberry essence
red colouring

Method :

Separate the egg white and the egg yolk. Beat the egg white untill fluffy and then add in the sugar. Beat again untill it turns white
Beat the butter separately untill soft . Add in the egg yolk. Mix both Parts
Add flour and mix well.
Next separate the mixture into 2 parts - one part for red and the other part is the original colour.
Add a tea spoon of strawberry essence and red coloring to the first part.
Now add in the first part onto the baking tray followed by the second part until the mixture is finished.
Bake at 175 degree celcius for 40 mins
Leave to cool for 20 mins
Cut and serve...

Jamilah actually baked this cake for Rabiah's birthday and shared it with her team. We hope that you wil have fun baking ....

After weeks of anticipation and vocal sparring, the Singapore Idol competition is finally in its home stretch with the winner to be announced Today!!!
The last 2 contenders fought it out in a high-energy final show down at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Having beaten the other 10 finalists, the 2 Singapore Idol contestants had to out perform each other en route to the Idol crown.

They were watched by a packed stadium and President S R Nathan.

23-year-old Jonathan Leong, started with Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars".
While his opponent, 26-year-old Hady Mirza opened with "Freedom" by George Michael.

Season Two of Singapore Idol started with auditions for over 3,600 registrants in February, each hoping to replicate Season One winner Taufik Batisah's path to stardom.

Hady and Jonathan will find out who is the new Singapore Idol during the results show which will be beamed LIVE on MediaCorp Channel 5 at 8.00 pm Tonight!!

A BlueChips Celebration....

Last week, Team Bluechips celebrated the birthday of one of their team members, the lovely Sally. The pot luck celebration saw each team member bringing various kinds of food and they enjoyed the feast over dinner. Usually, for an occassion like this, they will buy a cake. But this time round, team member Jamilah willingly put her baking skills to good use and baked a mouthwatering cake for the birthday baby.

Another reason for the celebration was to bid farewell to fellow colleague Poh chong who went on a contract break of one month and also to Rohana who was moving to greener pastures

Fun Time! SASCO Sharity Nite 2006

In Income we have many staff benefits which also include opportunity to go for corporate dinner functions. This is where we get to network with other co-operative members, our internal colleagues from other depts and have fun.

Recently some of us from Insureline, Information Management, Field & Customer Relations Depts, attended the SASCO Sharity Nite 2006 on 16 Sept 2006.

The dinner was filled with many performances and games. I was most impressed with the drums performances put by the less fortunate and physically challenged group from MINDS. They displayed great sense of co-ordination and rhythm.

It was a wonderful night with lots of audience participation. We completely let our hair down and enjoyed the many performances. Our enthusiasm caught the attention of performancers and the MC. We were picked to participate in one table contest and we won the table prizes as well.

There were 2 action games which captivated the audience. The hall was filled with good laughter. These games certainly make good ice-breakers for any function.

1st game:
Guests were invited to come on stage, they were told to do a few actions - fish, wave, point, what's happening & shopping etc. The MC called out the action at random and the guest had to follow music rhythm and tempo and act accordingly.

2nd game
All guests in the room were invited to participate in the table game. We had to follow the action: 2 taps on the thigh, 2 hand claps, 2 X right hand on top of left and vice versa, 2 X right fist on top of left and vice versa and lastly right thumb pointed over left shoulder and vice versa.

MC started at a slow pace and increased the music beat very fast. The challenge for the table is to coordinate our action together and respond to the music. This requires good teamwork .

Guess what? Our table passed the test and emerged final winner! See who says Income do not have strong teamwork! (^_^)

A big thanks to our Mgt and Human Resource Dept for giving us the opportunity to be part of this event!

Hey guys,

I found some useful info on how to exercise while at your desk....

So start stretching and get rid of muscle aches and stiff necks =D

Some Simple ways to do it : -

When you need to talk to someone sitting elsewhere, ignore the email and the phone and walk over to speak to them. It gets you off your chair and moving.
Each time you wait for a program to open, an email to send, a page to refresh or a document to save, roll your shoulders or stretch your arms.
When going for lunch, go to places a bit further away so it is more of a walk to get your lunch.

Stretches at your Desk:-

Eye stretches
Keeping head straight, look out of the corners of your eye to the right, then to the left, then down and finally up. Keep your neck and shoulder relaxed throughout the stretching session.

Thumb stretches
Turn palm up. Place one thumb on top of the other. Stretch one thumb, then the other.

Shoulder shrugs
Shrug or lift the tops of your shoulders up toward your ears. Hold the position for 2-3 seconds and then relax your shoulders and lower to the starting position.

Neck stretch
To stretch the muscles that move your neck laterally, slowly lower the right side of your chin toward your right collar bone and shoulder area. Repeat to the left.

!!Laser Quest!!

Last Saturday, on the 09 Sept, The Young Singapore Insurance Employee Union held a laserquest challenge for its members. Four people from CR dept participated. Sunita, Kerin, Matthew and Faisal. 20 people in total from the union participated and were broken to groups of five. They had a lot of fun blasting each other through the dark maze. Even though at the end of the game everyone was a little tired, there were more smiles all around.

A little on LaserQuest. Laser Quest combines the classic games of tag and hide & seek with a high-tech twist. Donning the most sophisticated laser tag equipment available, the game is played in a large, multi-level arena featuring specialty lighting, swirling fog and heart-pounding music. Questors, whether individually or on teams, use their lasers to score as many points as possible by tagging the sensors on their opponents’ equipment. Scorecards and code names add to the fun.

We would recommend laserquest to those who are adventurous and don't mind a good workout. It is really a great experience. U should try it...

Goodbye Croc Hunter

On the 4th, last monday, the world bid farewell to one of it's most loved characters.

Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, 44, was killed off the Great Barrier Reef when the tail barb of a giant stingray punctured his heart as the creature lashed out at him while he was filming.

Irwin was filming a documentary called "Ocean's Deadliest" for the Discovery Channel, which is watched by more than 200 million people around the world. And he died doing the thing that he loved doing most.

The staff at Irwin's zoo were also astounded by the extraordinary global outpouring of grief for Australia's most famous export.
"We've been stunned by the public reaction to this tragedy," spokeswoman Louise Martin.

"It's incredible the impact that Steve had on people's lives around the world. It's absolutely amazing to see the flood of flowers," she said.

"Crikey! We will miss you," read one note in the sea of tributes at the zoo, reprising the daredevil naturalist's signature exclamation.

Irwin’s success in raising awareness of wildlife preservation amongst the general public was undeniable. And he should be an example to
the rest of the world.

We will definitely miss him.

An Energizers Celebration,

On Friday 25th August we celebrated 3 of our fellow colleagues' Birthdays at Pizza Hut at Tampines Mall . This is the second time we had had such a celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The previous time was when 3 of our ex-team members left, to pursue their studies after working on a temporary basis with us.

A lot of great food was ordered, and amidst a little confusion, the waitress even presented us with an extra pizza. We had a lovely time there and is definitely a memorable experience.

On the next day, we had a surprise cake cutting for the 3 birthday babies as well.

We also like to thanks our Team Leader Dolly for organizing the memorable fine moments we had together =)

I am very pleased with the service provided by the staff at Bras Basah Main Servicing Branch and the contact centre. The staff at Bras Basah are polite, prompt, knowledgeable and approachable. The call agents at the contact centre are prompt with their reply and sound very courteous over the phone.I would also like to praise NTUC Income’s CEO Mr. Tan for doing a lot in reinvesting the money for the benefit of policyholders.

INCOME D&D 2006 - Back to Yesteryears

On 24 June 2006, a team of powderful (literally powder coated), gorgeous, let-their-hair-down 7 took to the stage of Swissotel.....they gyrated, shake, danced and sang their hearts out!

These multi-talented babes and hunks are CR's -----Sin Po Pos-----YEAH!!!! They impressed the judges, wowed the audience and walked away with the 2nd prize!!!!

Behind the glamour, this is their untold stories:
1. they practised and practised
2. their boss's maid sewed and sewed (thanks to Nana for costumes)
3. their boss stacked on more and more glitter (must make sure miles away, still can see them)
4. the Sin Po Pos eat and eat (food sponsored by boss)
5. Zuraini defying boss' order and went on stage (she was down with dengue fever)
6. Qifei piling on more and more eye shadow on herself and others

Ha ha.... all put up a good show and enjoyed YESTERYEARS tremendously!

Team BlueChips is led by team leader, Kerin Chin. She is one who never fails to wear a smile on her face, is always cheerful, approachable and a caring figure to her team members.

The name 'BlueChip" was founded in 2002 by team leader Dolly & Steven. In the financial market, Blue chips are usually the top performing stock which are the most stable and secure that many investors look for. Similarly Team Bluechips aims to be the best in terms of productivity and will constantly strive hard to exceed those targets set.

The Team comprises of both the young and the young at heart. They are dynamic at work and have good esprit de corp as a team. The day is always exciting with fun lined up in their sleeves.

On March 1st 2006, at a not so distant corner of Tampines, saw the birth of a new and wondrous dept. Emerging from NTUC Income, this dept is called Customer Relations(CR) Department. CR is faced with the task of strengthening the ties between policyholders and Income itself. The journey has been continuing ever since. And this is our story....
